The Thing About Six Months Old…

When you’re six months old, there’s so much to see and learn- why sleep? Short cat-naps are the best solution to shake off the droopy eyes, hang on to the grumpies and keep just enough energy to not miss any of the household action.

When you’re six months old, you nurse, and sleep with one eye open. Its like grazing, because you eat a little, turn your head to every tiny noise, nurse a little, see if you can play with mama’s hair, nurse a little… It’s dine in entertainment at Mom’s Cafe.

When you’re six months old, you don’t want mama to leave the room, you don’t want mama to put you down and you want mama to wear you while she works.

When you’re six months old, your tummy is going through some changes. What did mama eat today that might be the root of the fussiness and projectile spit up?

When you’re six months old, you’ve figured out when mom is trying to get you to stop fussing by giving you a paci or other distraction so you wave your arms in the air like an angry slapping cat because you don’t want any of that nonsense.

When you’re six months old, why sleep at night?  Dozing, curled up next to mom is the best possible and coziest solution.

When you’re six months old, your brothers and sisters are the funniest creatures on the face of the planet, being tickled is the greatest game, and touching and tasting everything is the best fun of all!

When you’re six months old you can usually be soothed by mama’s singing or daddy’s pats. You can usually be distracted by any new thing to hold and examine, and you can find the greatest joy in mama reading a giant board book to you.

When you’re six months old, going outside brings you extreme happiness and animals make you chuckle endlessly!

When you’re six months old, it might be really really hard for mama to keep the house clean or accomplish anything- but that’s okay. You’re adorable, intelligent, being formed day by day, growing in trust, and loved immensely by your family!

When you’re six months old, your family relishes in the gift of you each day and all that you are becoming. They thank God each day for giving them such a joy and privilege.
